Curtis Cook, Senior Pastor
Curtis has been the pastor of Hope since it began in 2003. He is married to Brandy and they have two children, Hannah and Brennan. He enjoys spending time with Brandy and the kids, reading, drinking lots of coffee and occasional games of pick-up basketball and flag football.

Mike Brooks, Associate Pastor
Mike joined the staff at Hope in 2022 and oversees community groups, membership classes, and assists with pastoral care. He holds an M.Div degree and Ph.D. in Historical Theology from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Paige, and their dog, Ramsey, reading, playing golf, and rooting for New England sports teams.
Matt West, Director of Worship & Operations
Matt joined the staff in 2019. He oversees the worship ministry and helps maintain the church facility. He is married to Julie and God has blessed them with three children, Eliza, Eberly, and Florence. Matt loves making music, geeking out about new technology, reading history/theology, tools, and fixing anything that may be broken with said tools.
Andrew Gilson, Director of Mobilization
Andrew joined the staff at Hope in 2023. He helps church members find a place in the ongoing ministry of the church, oversees the Welcome and Hospitality Teams for Sunday services and events, organizes community and church-wide special events, and supports the church’s local missions engagement. He is married to Rachel, and they have one daughter, Enna. Andrew enjoys traveling with his family, talking with friends, reading epic fantasy, and taking the occasional blacksmithing course.
Jennifer Nash, Children's Ministry Director
Jennifer grew up in Florida and went to Auburn for her undergraduate degree before moving to Boston 7 years ago for graduate school. She has attended Hope since moving here and met her husband, Jameson, here. Jennifer and Jameson have been blessed with one child, Tobias. Jennifer has been on staff since 2024. In her free time she loves to read, bake, hike mountains, and go to the bouldering gym (and is looking forward to bringing Tobias along in all these things as he grows!)
Vivian Shu, Women's Discipleship Coordinator
Vivian is originally from Malaysia, spent her school and career years in various cities across Asia-Pacific, and moved to the US in 2005 after marrying her husband Mark. She oversees women's discipleship efforts at the church. Vivian enjoys food, movies and travel and will never say no to a day at the spa.
Adri Flores, Administrative Assistant
Adri is originally from El Salvador and went to High School in Los Angeles but has spent her whole adult life in New England and considers the Greater Boston Area her home. She has been a member of Hope since 2015 and joined the staff in 2024. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and baking and hosting friends.
Helen Bickel Matejik, Administrative Assistant
Helen is a part-time member of the staff. She is a widow with one grown son who is a local playwright. Her responsibilities at Hope include accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and other related functions. Her interests include writing fiction, non-fiction, and poetry, some of which she hopes to publish. She is an avid student of the Bible and loves getting alone with God.
Danny Lyons, Elder
Danny and his wife Crystal are elementary school sweethearts, originally hailing from southern California but now firmly rooted in New England. They have three children: Faith, Noah, and Gabriel. Danny is a professor at Boston College Law School, where he teaches telecommunications and Internet law. When not at work or in school, the Lyons family enjoys camping, hiking, games, Red Sox baseball, reading, and classic cinema.
Nathan Beach, Elder
Nathan moved from the Bay Area to Boston for graduate school in 2012 and planted roots in Boston after meeting his wife Becky at Hope. He enjoys time with their three children, software development, running, and hiking.
Tim Chiang, Elder
Tim and his wife, Rachel, moved to the Boston area in 2016 from Washington, DC, and have two children, Titus and Phoebe. Tim grew up in the midwest, works in venture capital, and is an avid outdoorsman.
